Welcome to the web page of the State Secretariat of Culture. In this web page you can find information about the work we develop together with the National Directorate of Culture, institutions that exist within the Ministry of Education of the Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste.

Our team works daily to bring you the culture of Timor-Leste, aiming at fulfilling one of the Government’s priorities: “using culture to affirm the East Timorese Nation and State”. This technological resource now made available is another important step that will help strengthening the country’s national identity.

The web page is divided into four main sections: news and agenda on cultural activities developed or to be developed; pdf documentation such as publications, legislation and forms that can be downloaded; and a section with institutional information related to the State Secretariat and the National Directorate of Culture. All sections and pages are available in Tetun, Portuguese (the two official languages of Timor-Leste) and English.

In order for the web page of the State Secretariat of Culture to work as an efficient resource in disseminating East Timorese culture, we count on your support to send us information on any cultural events, as well as pdf papers and publications, photographs and any other materials on Timor-Leste. We will do our best to update the web page on a regular basis, turning it into a meeting point to East Timorese and all those interested in building a more prosperous, developed and culturally diversified country!
